How does Microdermabrasion work? Microdermabrasion exfoliates the top layer of dead skin cell by using a powerful stream of micro-aluminum oxide or salt crystals. By using a controlled flow of micro crystals and the sucking action of a vacuum system Microdermabrasion stimulates the skin's collagen and exfoliates away the outer layer of skin. Duration of Microdermabrasion treatments last about 30 minutes for the face only. Some of our patients at Jacksonville Cosmetic Surgery Center prefer to have their neck treated also. In that case, the treatment will take about 45 minutes.

How many treatments of Microdermabrasion do I need to reach the best result? We recommend at least six treatments, followed by a maintenance program of one treatment every 4-8 weeks. Some people may need twelve treatments.(acne scarring or extreme sun damage) We recommended Glycolic or Lactic acid  to your treatment program to enhance your skin care reward. We provide this service at no extra cost to the patient with a microdermabrasion package purchase. (This helps to reduce pore size) Recovery time from Microdermabrasion? There is no downtime following microdermabraison treatment. The patients can return to their regular activities the same day. We advise our patients in Jacksonville to use sun block every day for protection from future damage. Cost of Microdermabrasion? The charge for a package of six treatments is 500.00 for face only.
